The Roofline System the Pros Use

A professional-looking roofline is three parts: stringer wire with evenly spaced sockets, the C7 or C9 bulbs of your choice, and — for custom-cut runs — slide-on vampire plugs. Every stringer here is UL Listed 18 AWG wire, rated for indoor and outdoor use, and accepts any C7 (E12) or C9 (E17) bulb, LED or incandescent. Not sure which bulb size fits your house? See our C7 vs C9 guide.

Well made string for lights. I put together a string for the edge of the driveway. As with all of my purchases from The Christmas Light Emporium everything was great!

500' LIGHT LINE SPOOLS

Cut Custom Runs Like the Pros

For projects where pre-cut lengths won’t do, 500' Light Line socket spools cut to any run length — rooflines, commercial displays, municipal installations. Spools ship without plugs, so finish each cut with slide-on vampire plugs that match the wire type listed on the product (SPT1 or SPT2 — the two are not interchangeable).

Why Stringer Wire Beats Boxed Sets

Boxed sets decide your length, spacing, and colors for you. Stringers put all three back in your hands.

  • Commercial-Grade Wire

Every stringer is built on UL Listed 18 AWG wire and rated for indoor and outdoor use — the same line professional installers run.

  • Your Bulbs, Your Look

Stringers are empty socket line: any C7 (E12) or C9 (E17) bulb fits, LED or incandescent, so the colors and finishes are entirely up to you.

  • Connect End-to-End

Pre-cut 25', 50', and 100' stringers have male and female plugs, so multiple stringers chain together into longer runs.

  • Spacing for Every Job

12″ spacing is the classic roofline look, 6″ doubles the sockets per foot for denser light, and 500' spools also come in 18″ for long commercial runs.

  • Wire That Disappears

Green wire vanishes into greenery and dark trim; white wire blends into white eaves and gutters. Every option comes in both.

  • Pairs With ProCore®

Stringers work great with our ProCore® LED bulbs — the same commercial-grade bulbs used by professional holiday lighting installers.

Stringer Wire Questions & Answers

What is the difference between C7 and C9 stringers?

The socket size. C7 stringers use E12 sockets for the smaller C7 bulbs, typically around windows, doorways, and trees. C9 stringers use E17 sockets for the larger C9 bulbs most people picture on rooflines.

Do stringers come with bulbs?

No — stringers are empty socket line. Every socket accepts any matching C7 or C9 bulb, LED or incandescent, so you choose the exact colors and finishes. They work great with our ProCore® LED bulbs.

What socket spacing should I choose?

12″ spacing is the classic roofline look and our most popular. 6″ spacing puts twice as many sockets per foot for a denser line of light, and 500' spools are also available with 18″ spacing for long commercial runs.

Can I connect multiple stringers together?

Yes — pre-cut 25', 50', and 100' stringers have male and female plugs, so runs connect end-to-end.

How do the 500' socket spools work?

Light Line spools let you cut custom run lengths for any project. No plugs are included — add slide-on vampire plugs to your cut wire ends, matching the wire type listed on the product (SPT1 or SPT2).

Are stringers rated for outdoor use?

Yes — every stringer is UL Listed, built on 18 AWG wire, and rated for indoor and outdoor use, with a 1-season warranty.
