What does a Socket Stuffer® cover do?
It seals an empty C7 or C9 socket on your light stringer. When a socket is left empty — a bulb burns out, is removed, or was never installed — the exposed socket lets in moisture, debris, and fingers, and shortens the life of the string. The cover screws in just like a bulb and seals the opening with a wide cap. On commercial displays, sealing empty sockets is often a safety requirement.
Will it fit my sockets?
Yes — the screw-in design holds the wide cap firmly against the top of the socket, making a tight seal on any standard or non-standard C7 or C9 socket — from any manufacturer, any era. That’s what makes it universal, unlike snap-on caps that require a specific top-lip dimension and in practice fit very few sockets.
Which size do I need — C7 or C9?
The same size as the bulbs your stringer takes: C7 covers thread into E12 sockets, C9 covers thread into E17 sockets. Our C7 stringers are typically used around windows, doorways, and trees; C9 stringers are the roofline standard.
What colors are available?
