The stake top is a metal base: Lite-Netics magnetic sockets snap straight onto it, and standard (non-magnetic) C7/C9 sockets and other flat-base lights are held by the stake's built-in clips, so one stake works with either kind of strand. The metal base is rust- and corrosion-resistant for outdoor use.
