What's the difference between C7 LED bulbs and incandescent C7s?

What's the difference between smooth and faceted C7 LED bulbs?

Smooth C7 LEDs give a clean, even glow. Faceted C7 LEDs scatter light for a sparkling, prismatic effect.

Are C7 lights bright enough to see from the street?

At moderate distances, yes. They are bright and vivid up close and clearly visible from a typical residential street, though C9s deliver more punch from farther away.

Note on outdoor tree wrapping: Outdoor tree wrapping is typically done with 5mm string lights (sometimes M5 or G12) — not C7 or C9. C7 and C9 are occasionally used around tree canopies for a modern visual effect, but this is not their primary use case.

C7 (E12 candelabra base) is smaller than C9 (E17 intermediate base). C9 is the standard for large-scale roofline and architectural outlines where maximum bulb visibility at a distance matters.
