These C7/E12 replacement sockets are used for two purposes: replacing a damaged or missing socket on an existing C7 stringer, and building completely custom C7 socket stringers from scratch. Thread them onto SPT1 zipcord wire at any spacing you want, then add vampire plugs on each end to finish the run.
Installation is straightforward: place the socket over the wire so the wire sits in the slot along the socket body, then press the bottom cap onto the socket. The cap forces the wire down onto the teeth inside the socket base, which pierce the insulation and make the electrical connection — no stripping required. Pressing the cap on by hand can be difficult; a pair of C-clamps or woodworking/welding clamps makes the job much easier by applying even pressure across the cap.

Thread these sockets onto SPT1 zipcord wire at whatever spacing you need, then finish both ends with vampire plugs to build a completely custom-length C7 socket run. How do I install a replacement socket?
