Color Changing Christmas Lights

Color changing Christmas lights move beyond a single, fixed color — shifting through the full visible spectrum or morphing between warm and cool tones on the same string. The Christmas Light Emporium carries two distinct color changing formats: ProCore® C9 RGB bulbs for maximum programmable control, and ColorCraft specialty strings with built-in warm white and RGB morphing effects right out of the box. Both are backed by our Reindeer Proof™ Warranty.

What’s in This Collection

ProCore® C9 RGB Bulbs — Screw-in C9 replacement bulbs that can display any color in the spectrum. Each bulb contains red, green, and blue LEDs that mix to produce millions of color combinations. Available in faceted finish. Compatible with standard C9 stringers (E17 base). Ideal for programmable light shows and animated displays.

ColorCraft Treasure — A warm white base string where every 5th light is an RGB morphing LED that slowly cycles through red, green, blue, pink, yellow, and cool white. 50-count, 6” spacing, green wire. No controller required — the morphing effect runs automatically.

ColorCraft Magic — Every other light is a warm white slow fade LED; the alternating lights are RGB morphing LEDs that slowly cycle through colors. The result is a warm, glowing string with pops of shifting color throughout. 50-count, 6” spacing, green wire.

RGB vs. ColorCraft — Which Is Right for You?

ProCore® RGB C9 bulbs are the choice for programmable and light show applications — they respond to controllers and can be set to any color or animation. ColorCraft Treasure and Magic strings run their morphing effects automatically with no controller needed, making them a simple plug-and-play upgrade over standard steady-on strings.

How to Choose

Color-changing lights cycle through multiple colors using built-in LED technology or a string controller. Consider how many display modes the string offers — options often include slow color cycling, fast cycling, and static single-color settings — and choose a string whose modes match the look you want. Note that specialty color-changing strings may not be dimmable or may display undesirable behavior when connected to a dimmer; review individual product pages for full control options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are RGB C9 bulbs compatible with any C9 stringer? Yes — ProCore® RGB C9 bulbs screw into any standard C9 stringer with an E17 intermediate base socket.

Do ColorCraft Treasure and Magic strings require a controller? No. The morphing effects are built into each individual LED and run automatically when the string is plugged in.

Are color changing strings dimmable? Color changing and RGB morphing strings may not be dimmable or may display undesirable behavior when used with a dimmer. Use on a standard outlet for best results.

What’s the Reindeer Proof™ Warranty? Our in-house warranty covering manufacturing defects and performance failures. Duration varies — see individual product pages.
