These products are intended to replace C7 incandescent bulbs in an AC powered string. They work great! Colors (red, green, cool white) are vivid & bright. Of note, you must tightened these very tightly into older C7 strings, likely due to dirt/corrosion buildup in older strings' contacts. Or, you could try to clean the center conductor inside each socket. These are robust globes, so they'll take the tightening.

I bought and put this up late in the season, but three of the outlets don't seem to be working. I've tested at least one of the bulbs and it works except in that spot. I will test everything more when I take it down.
Other than that, it's great and does what you need.

Most of the time if a bulb doesn't work in a socket with a new stringer, it isn't a faulty socket, rather it is that the bulb has been fitted to to the socket. This light string is just what I was looking for. These sockets are flared to make a proper connection with LED lamps.

E12/C7 stringers typically come in two wire sizes: 20AWG with 5Amp fuse and 18AWG with 8Amp fuse. These are the cheaper former. Bought them presuming they would be like the white 25ft cord that was falsely advertised as 18AWG.
HI Allan - sorry about that error on the 25' stringers. The information in our description on all of our 25' stringers was indeed incorrect. It has now been corrected. One thing to note is that the standard for 25', 12' spaced stringers is SPT1, 20awg, 5 amp fuse - which is what ours are. All other stringers are typically SPT1 18awg, 8 amp fused - with some specialized variants using SPT2 18 awg.

Bought two strings to run through my village of Christmas houses on top of my book case. The 12" spacing is a great size to go from house to house! Bought white ones to go on my white ground cover. Used the LED bulbs, C7, and they look great!
These faceted SMD red are not as bright as the rest of the SMD line.

Hi Mark - very sorry the red does not meet your expectations. I would be interested in seeing a comparison of the brightness that you refer to. We'd want to make sure that you actually received the current SMD version of the bulbs. If it is the current version, the brightness should be equal to the other colors. usually blue is a tad less bright simply due to its hue. Also, might I ask a favor - to see if you might also post reviews of the other colors that do meet your requirements? That would be much appreciated by your fellow decorators! Thank you!
