ProCore® C7 Twinkle Bulbs (E12 candelabra base) — Screw-in C7 replacement bulbs where each individual bulb blinks on and off independently at its own random interval. Available in faceted and smooth finishes in warm white, cool white, and multicolor. Primary use cases: window outlines, doorway outlines, and wrapping around Christmas trees.

ProCore® C9 Twinkle Bulbs (E17 intermediate base) — Same independent random blink behavior as the C7, in C9 format. Available in faceted and smooth finishes in warm white, cool white, and multicolor. Primary use cases: rooflines, architectural outlines, and large-scale displays.

5mm Twinkle String Lights — 70-count strings with 4” spacing. Every 5th light is a twinkle light that blinks at random intervals; the remaining four lights between each twinkle stay steady-on. Creates a traditional Christmas sparkle effect. Available in warm white and cool white.

M5 Twinkle String Lights and Icicle Lights — Elongated faceted M5 lens in both standard string and icicle formats. Available in warm white and cool white. The M5 lens adds a sparkle and light scatter that complements the twinkle effect.

How Is Twinkle Different from Strobe or Slow Fade?

Twinkle lights blink on and off at a quick, random cadence — the classic Christmas sparkle look. Strobe lights (SuperSpark®, QuadSpark®) flash more rapidly and with higher visual energy. Slow fade lights (DreamSpark®) ease in and out gradually with no sharp on/off. Twinkle sits in the middle: more energetic than slow fade, softer than full strobe. For C7 and C9 bulbs, the twinkle effect is at the individual bulb level — each bulb operates independently. For 5mm strings, every 5th light twinkles while the rest stay steady.

How to Choose

Twinkle lights incorporate random-flash or twinkling bulbs that add movement and sparkle to your display. They work well mixed into a static-color string arrangement to create visual depth and interest. Check whether the twinkle effect is created by individual flashing bulbs — which can be replaced — or is built into the string controller, as this affects both the look and long-term maintenance of the string.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are twinkle bulbs and twinkle strings the same effect? Similar but not identical. ProCore® C7 and C9 twinkle bulbs each blink independently — every bulb on the stringer can be a twinkle bulb. On 5mm twinkle strings, only every 5th light is a twinkle light; the remaining four between each twinkle stay steady-on.

Are twinkle lights dimmable? Twinkle lights may not be dimmable or may display undesirable behavior when used with a dimmer. Use on a standard outlet.
