What ColorCraft® Actually Is
Walk down any big box lighting aisle and you'll find single colors and one version of multicolor: red, green, blue, orange, yellow, repeated down the string. That's been the choice for decades. ColorCraft® is our answer to the question nobody in that aisle can answer: what if the colors on a string were chosen to go together?
Every ColorCraft® string carries a named palette of two to four coordinated colors in a fixed repeating order. Stardust is teal, blue, and purple. Spooky is green, orange, and purple. Cotton Candy, Havana, Holly, Winter, Mardi Gras, and the rest each have their own combination. The palette name is the product; the individual colors are listed on every product page so you know exactly what you're getting.
Why It Reads Differently From The Street
Traditional multicolor covers the full spectrum, so from the curb it averages out to a warm, familiar glow. A palette is narrower on purpose. Three cool colors on a tree read as a single cool wash with depth in it. A warm palette on the porch feels like one intentional color rather than a scatter. It's the difference between a room painted in a coordinated scheme and a room with every color on the chart.
That's also why ColorCraft® works so well beside a steady single color. Warm white on the roofline and Stardust on the trees is a complete design. Multicolor next to warm white tends to fight it.
Lens Styles And Formats
ColorCraft® palettes come on 5mm wide-angle string lights, the small dome lens that's brightest per watt and wraps trees and shrubs cleanly. Several palettes are also available as net lights for hedges and as icicle lights for eaves and fence tops. Wire color follows the palette: green by default, black on Spooky, white on Arctic, Stardust, and Champagne, so the wire disappears against whatever it's on.
A few palettes come in a DreamSpark® version, where individual lights fade in and out at random for a slow, candle-like motion. It's the quietest effect we make and suits a palette better than a strobe does.
Where To Use Each Kind
Feature tree or trunk wrap: a 5mm palette string at 4-inch spacing. Dense wrapping is where a palette shows its depth.
Shrubs and hedges: a ColorCraft® net. Match it to the string on the tree above it or pick a second palette that shares one color with the first.
Eaves and fences: ColorCraft® icicles as a single horizontal line, with the roofline itself in C9 bulbs. String lights of any kind, ColorCraft® included, stay off the roofline; that job belongs to C9s.
Halloween: Spooky on black wire is the obvious pick, and the same string works for a fall porch through Thanksgiving.
Indoors: a palette on the tree with plain warm white on the mantel keeps the room from feeling like a carnival.
Picking A Palette
Look at the house first. Brick and warm siding flatter cool palettes (Stardust, Winter, Blue Taffy). White or gray exteriors can carry warm ones (Havana, Cotton Candy, Champagne). If you're pairing with an existing single color, choose a palette that contains it. And limit yourself to one palette per zone. Two palettes side by side turn back into multicolor.

Can I connect ColorCraft® strings end to end?
Yes. Connection limits are listed on each product page, and because these are LED strings the limit is generous. The palette order continues cleanly across the connection.
Do the colors fade over time?
The color comes from the LED itself, not a coating on the lens, so it stays true. Strings are built to last for many seasons and are backed by our Reindeer Proof™ Warranty.
How is this different from RGB color-changing lights?
RGB lights change color on command from a controller or app. ColorCraft® is fixed color: each light is one color forever, arranged in a designed sequence. No controller, no app, nothing to program. Plug in and it looks right.
