I ordered this item from Christmas Emporium, and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
All you have to do is plug it in, and off it goes! I have my lights set up on a timer, and plugging the controller into the timer works with no issues at all.
The controller gives you 7 different light patterns, 1 that's a combination of all of them, and you can set it to keep the lights on steady.
The only thing I wish it had was a way to slow down or speed up the light patterns. There's only one speed. The more expensive controllers do have that option if you want to upgrade, however.
There's one thing I would bring to your attention. The more light strands you can plug into the controller, the better your lights will look.
My outside lights are all combined into only two plugs, one plug for the first and second floor of the house, and one plug for the lights on the fence around my deck. So what this means is, the patterns for the lights are only on two channels. When you have a pattern that turns the lights on and off in sequence, at one point all the lights are off, or on. There's not a lot of cascading, flowing patterns with only two plugs.
If all four of the plugs on the controller were used, the effects would flow much more smoothly, I'm certain.
But that's the issue of the lights, not the controller. The controller works beautifully and I would definitely recommend it!
Works well, the functions are ***almost*** perfect (the “sequence” function ended up hanging at the last cycle instead of moving quickly). Otherwise, probably the closest to the vintage 8-function chasing lights that I remember. If only they could fix that tiny little detail on the Sequence function, it would be the most perfect light.

My 10+ year old system just went kaput at the end of the season. I ordered the Christmas Light Emporium 4 channel controller to replace it. I couldn't wait a full year to see this in action so I plugged a string of lights into each channel. It looks awesome and I can't wait until Christmas to see the entire house in action!

It took 14 days to show up after placing the order
Hi Mike and thanks for taking the time to share your review. We'd love to know what you think of the controller itself? Sorry about the shipping delay. 50 weeks of the year we ship all orders within 24 hours, most the same day. But your order happened to come in during the two weeks of the year (last week of the year + first week of the new year) that we let our staff finally have some time off :) We ship in staggered shifts during that time, so orders do get shipped out (yours was shipped on 1/2), but there is a little longer delay than usuall there on our end. The USPS does indeed see a massive influx of shipments from about mid November through mid January and that was the largest contributing factor to the long ship time (11 days or so) on your order. USPS is almost always the slowest shipping option. Some folks can only get deliveries via USPS, some will only ship with UPS. Hence, we offer both of those options at checkout. I'm sorry your was delayed. If you have a moment to share a review about the controller itself, other folks would appreciate that too as they look to reviews prior to purchase. Arrived on time
Works great got two and just bought two more. Much better quality and performance over the lower quality ones sold at the box stores.
So glad I bought this turned our boring pathway lights to something way more festive for the holiday season.
I just got my package! Comparing this package I just received to the first two plugs! The extensions are shorter and and the 4 channel outlet plugs are totally different from the other two I bought the first time! This plug came in a sandwich bag! Other first plugs came in original packages!
*** Update: I'll still be buying items from you! Once I start setting out the lights
then I'll know how many more I'll be purchasing from you! I've been looking

Hi Rene and thanks for taking the time to post your review. We use 2 different manufacturers for these controllers. The body and the functionality is exactly the same. The differences are indeed as you describe, but those are not functional differences. One comes in a blister pack ( we will no longer be carrying this type) and the other comes in a polybag. The polybag *is* the original packaging for our manufacturer going forward. The functionality will be exactly the same. Our apologies for any confusion on this!

These lights are just what I needed to finish my Halloween lighting. I am happy with the colors, especially the purple because most purple lights show up as pink looking, and these are a true purple
