Lens Styles

5mm — Wide-angle dome. The most popular format for trees, wreaths, garlands, and bushes. Available in all colors, effects, and ColorCraft multi-color blends.

M5 — Elongated faceted lens. Traditional incandescent mini light look. Available in steady-on, twinkle, and DreamSpark® slow fade — including M5 icicle lights.

C6 — Rounded "strawberry" lens. Steady-on only. Full color range.

G12 — 12mm faceted globe "raspberry" lens. Steady-on only. Full color range.

Effect Types

Steady-on — Constant, uninterrupted light. All lens styles available. Dimmable.

Twinkle — Random individual lenses twinkle on and off. Available in select colors. May not be dimmable.

DreamSpark® Slow Fade — Each lens fades in and out independently at a random interval. 5mm and M5 icicle lights. No controller required. May not be dimmable.

SuperSpark® Strobe — Every lens strobes continuously. 5mm only. No controller required. Not dimmable.

QuadSpark® Strobe — 3 steady + 1 strobe (same color), repeating. 5mm only. Not dimmable.

Dazzle™ Strobe — 3 steady (main color) + 1 cool white strobe, repeating. 5mm only. Not dimmable.

Verify the string length covers your measured area and that the light count delivers the density you want. Color and lens style are personal choices — warm white reads traditional while multicolor creates a festive classic look.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between 5mm, M5, C6, and G12? All four use 4" spacing and are used for trees, wreaths, garlands, and bushes — the difference is the lens shape. 5mm = wide-angle dome; M5 = elongated faceted; C6 = rounded strawberry; G12 = 12mm faceted globe.

Are LED string lights dimmable? Steady-on strings are dimmable. Specialty effect strings (slow fade, strobe, twinkle, RGB) may not be compatible with dimmers.

What are string lights used for? Trees, wreaths, garlands, and bushes. M5 icicle lights are also used for eaves and overhangs.
