Everything You Need to Know About Mega Tree and Pole Tree Kits

A mega tree — also called a pole tree — is a cone-shaped light display built around a central vertical pole, with light strings radiating outward and downward from a hook head at the top to stakes in the ground. The result is a dramatic, full-coverage light tree that can be scaled from a few feet to over 20 feet tall. The Christmas Light Emporium carries complete kits, individual components, and star toppers for builds of any size.

What’s in This Collection

Mega Tree Kits — Complete kits for building a mega tree. Includes the components needed to build a cone tree with light strings radiating from a central pole. Available for trees up to 20 feet tall.

Hook Heads — Screw-on peg heads that mount to the top of the pole and hold the light strings in position. Available in 16-peg and 24-peg configurations with star mount adaptor for 1.5” pipe.

Mega Tree Pulley Kit — Crank-up pulley system for raising and lowering hook heads on tall installations. Makes assembly and takedown significantly easier on large builds.

Guy Wire Adaptor Kit — For anchoring the pole with guy wire for stability on taller builds.

Star Toppers — 12” flat, 12” 3D, and 33” Bethlehem star toppers for the top of the tree. M5 LED light kits available for the 12” star versions.

How to Choose

Start with the complete Mega Tree Kit if you’re building from scratch. Add a pulley kit for any build over 10 feet to simplify raising and lowering the head. Choose your peg count based on how many light strings you want to run — 16 or 24 strings.
