The Guy Wire Adaptor Kit provides a mounting point at the top of a 1.5" threaded electrical conduit center pole for guy wire cables and pulley mechanisms. It is most useful when paired with a crank-up hook head — the adaptor mounts at the top of the pole so the guy wire cables can stabilize the pole and the pulleys can be used to raise and lower the hook head. The kit also includes a star mount adaptor (1.5" to 1/2" threaded bushing) for attaching one of our star toppers to the top of the pole.

Kit includes:

  • Guy wire adaptor (fits 1.5" threaded electrical conduit)
  • 3 × 1/8" galvanized steel guy wire cables, 32 feet each
  • Eye crimped on one end of each cable; eye and 2 clamps for the other end
  • 3 carabiners
  • Star mount adaptor (1.5" to 1/2" threaded bushing)

Note: All mega tree components are designed for use with 1.5" rigid electrical conduit and couplings. They will not work with electrical conduit or plumbing couplings.

Is the Guy Wire Adaptor Kit required for a crank-up hook head?

Yes — it is strongly recommended. The adaptor provides a stop point at the top of the pole that prevents the crank-up hook head from traveling off the top of the pole. It also provides the star mount adaptor needed to attach a star topper (not included with the crank-up hook head itself).

What's the difference between the Guy Wire Kit and the Guy Wire Adaptor Kit?

The Guy Wire Kit contains only the cables, carabiners, and clamps — it does not include the adaptor that mounts to the top of the pole, and it does not include the star mount adaptor. The Guy Wire Adaptor Kit includes all of that plus the pole-mount adaptor and star mount bushing.

Do I need the Pulley Kit as well?

If you are using a crank-up hook head, yes — the Pulley Kit works with this adaptor to allow you to raise and lower the hook head. The Pulley Kit is sold separately.

NOTE:  All of our mega tree components are manufactured for use with 1.5 inch electrical conduit and couplings. they will NOT work with plumbing conduit and couplings. That's why we specify the use of Rigid Electrical conduit not EMT or plumbing pipe. An electrical coupling is much thinner than a plumbing coupling.
