The Mega Tree Kit includes most of the structural components needed to build a mega tree — also called a pole tree — up to 20 feet tall. A mega tree uses a single vertical center pole with a hook head at the top. Light strings run from each peg on the hook head down to the ground, creating the cone silhouette of a Christmas tree. The kit uses a 24-peg crank-up style hook head, which lowers to ground level so you can attach all your light strings while standing on the ground, then hoist everything up to the top of the pole.

- (1) 12" mega tree base plate with 2× 5/16" eye bolts for tying off hoist ropes
- (2) Hoist ropes
- (1) 24-peg crank-up style topper/hook head (requires assembly)
- (3) Ground anchors for guy wires
- (3) 1/2" × 12" turnbuckles
- (6) Shackles

- Two (2) 10-foot lengths of 1.5" rigid threaded electrical conduit for the center pole — available at your local hardware store

Note: All mega tree components are designed for use with 1.5" rigid electrical conduit and couplings. They will not work with EMT conduit or plumbing couplings. Rigid electrical conduit couplings are much thinner than plumbing couplings — the hook head must slide over the couplings and will not pass over a plumbing coupling.
Note: The photos of the hook head assembly show the 16-peg version. This kit contains the 24-peg version, but the assembly is the same design.

What is a mega tree / pole tree?
A mega tree (also called a pole tree) uses a single vertical center pole with a hook head mounted at the top. Light strings run from each peg on the hook head down to the ground in a cone shape, creating the appearance of a large Christmas tree. The height of the tree is determined by the height of your center pole.
What else do I need besides this kit?
You will need two 10-foot lengths of 1.5" rigid threaded electrical conduit for the center pole (available at local hardware stores), a base ring or ground stakes for the bottom of the light strings, and the light strings themselves. A star topper is also sold separately if desired.
What type of center pole must I use?
All mega tree components are manufactured for 1.5" rigid threaded electrical conduit only — not EMT and not electrical conduit. The hook head must be able to slide over the conduit couplings, and it will not pass over a plumbing coupling. Electrical conduit couplings are much thinner than plumbing couplings, which is why rigid electrical conduit is specified.
How many light strings should I use?
This kit includes a 24-peg hook head, so you can run up to 24 light strings from the top of the tree down to the ground. The number you use depends on how dense you want the tree to look — using all 24 pegs gives the fullest appearance.
What star topper options are available?
We offer star toppers in 12", 18", 24", and 33" Bethlehem sizes, as well as a 3D 12" version. All attach via a 1/2" pipe thread mount to the star mount bushing included in this kit. Matching M5 cool white LED light kits are available for each star size.
